Adding a Product Category
Categories help organize your products into groups so customers can easily find what they are looking for.
Steps to Add a Category
- Go to Products > Categories in your dashboard.
- Click Add Category.
Category Fields Explained
- Title: Enter the name of your category (e.g., “Electronics”).
- Parent Category: Optional. Select a parent to create a hierarchy. Choose None if it is a top-level category.
- Image: Upload an image representing the category. Recommended size: 800x400px.
- Icon: Upload a small icon for the category (optional). It will appear in menus or category lists.
- Trending: Toggle this option if you want this category to be featured as trending on your store homepage.
- Status: Choose Active to make the category visible or Inactive to hide it.
Tips for Category Creation
- Use clear, descriptive titles for easy navigation.
- Use high-quality images and icons to make categories attractive.
- Organize subcategories carefully for a neat hierarchy.
- Mark important categories as Trending to highlight them.
Once all fields are filled, click Save to create the category. Your products can now be assigned to this category when adding or editing them.
